Lyme, New Hampshire, is a quintessential New England town located along the Connecticut River just ten miles north of Hanover, NH and White River Junction, VT, offering visitors everything they need for a relaxing getaway. The Lyme Inn, located in the heart of the village, was recently awarded “Best of the Best,” by TripAdvisor, ranking us 13th in the United States for small hotels. Our charming, historic inn has 14 beautiful rooms, each with a refrigerator and microwave, and reservations include a complimentary breakfast.
Ariana’s Restaurant is located within the Inn and serves dinner Thursday through Sunday. Advance reservations are required for this popular restaurant. Within walking distance of the Inn are three diverse options for in-house dining and takeout meals, Stella’s Italian Kitchen & Market, the Latham House Tavern, and the Lyme Country Store.
There are outdoor activities for the whole family in and around Lyme. You can mountain bike and e-bike at Green Woodlands, and walk and cycle through our beautiful town and surrounding areas. E-bike rentals are available from Hanover Adventure Tours, who will deliver them to the Inn for you. These are a great way to include the whole family in bicycling adventures. There are several entry points to the Appalachian Trail and popular day hikes along the trail include the Smarts Mountain Trail. There are more hikes a little further afield. And if you want to paddle the Connecticut River, kayak and canoe rentals are available in Hanover.
Scenic drives are a great way to have an adventure and see the beauty of the area. One favorite is along the famed Kancamagus Highway. This 34-mile highway lies on a portion of Route 112 that runs east–west through the White Mountain National Forest. You can use this old time map to track your progress. Information (and modern maps) are also available at the Saco Ranger Station.
Come to the Lyme Inn and enjoy a delightful stay, delicious food, and a wealth of outdoor adventures.
