Summer is almost upon us, and with it, a rich variety of outdoor activities open up for New Englanders. New Hampshire and Vermont, including our own Upper Valley region, have spectacular landscapes offering many opportunities to enjoy hiking, bicycling, rock climbing, and more.
From easy family-friendly hikes region wide to experts-only trails in the White Mountains, there are hiking options for everyone. The Appalachian Trail is a stone’s throw from the Lyme Inn. State parks in both NH and VT offer activities including hiking, swimming, boating, fishing, and picnicking. And for those who like climbing, here is a collection of climbs in the region.
For bicyclists, New Hampshire has a wonderful network of riding options via its Rail Trail. Old railway beds have been converted to trails used by snowmobiles and dog sleds in the winter and bicyclists, runners, and walkers in the summer. There are other bicycle paths beyond the Upper Valley, in the larger Dartmouth-Lake Sunapee region, as well as throughout New Hampshire and Vermont.
And of course, after a day out, there are many wonderful dining and evening entertaining options to enjoy.
Come to the Lyme Inn and enjoy historic elegance and contemporary luxury in a casual country setting. We’re a great launching point for activities, indoor or outdoor, business or pleasure.
