Things to Do This Summer in the Upper Valley

The Upper Valley of New Hampshire and Vermont is a beautiful region and offers many things to do, both indoors and out. Here in Lyme we’re enjoying the warmer weather and the summer season activities and events that we look forward to each year.
Holts Ledge, here in Lyme, offers hiking and great views. This easy 2.2 mile hike takes you to the top of a cliff in which Peregrine Falcons nest. The Edgell Covered Bridge, on a charming back road in Lyme, is beautifully constructed with latticework interior, and is worth a visit. A short drive from Lyme is Quechee Gorge, also known as Vermont’s little Grand Canyon; it is the focal point of Quechee State Park, which offers hiking and beautiful scenery.
Rollin’ Lobster is back with great lobster rolls, shrimp rolls, mac & cheese, and weekend specials. This much-awaited seasonal food truck is open Friday, Saturday, and Sunday until they run out, which they always do! They are located just up the road in Orford, NH.
The Lebanon Opera House has performances from David Crosby, Keb Mo, and more coming up. Summer stock theatre has started at the New London Barn Playhouse with “The Pajama Game” playing in June. Many other arts activities are available in our area.
If you’re traveling with kids, there are many options. A great place to visit, perhaps as much for adults as for kids, is the Vermont Toy Museum in Quechee. Pez dispensers, original Star Trek games, dolls, action figures, and lunch boxes … it is full of treasures and memories!
