It’s apple season in New England and Upper Valley farms are teeming with fruit. What’s your favorite apple? Paula Red? McIntosh? Ginger Gold? The Zestar! was developed at the University of Minnesota by the same folks who gave us the Honey Crisp. Ever try a SnowSweet?
Classic apples and new varieties are being harvested and will be available in waves over the next several weeks. You can pick your own or pick up a bag at a local orchard.
And the cider presses are in action and fresh apple cider is available at most farms. And once the temperatures drop, we can look forward to hot spiced cider.
Here are a few Upper Valley farms with great orchards.

Windy Ridge Orchard
Poverty Lane Orchards

Come enjoy a weekend in New England and head home with a bushel of apples and some great memories!
