Summertime in Lyme, New Hampshire

It’s officially summertime. Flowers are blooming, farmer’s markets and orchards are welcoming visitors, bicycle paths—on road and off—are ready for your two-wheelers, and theatre, dining, and many other adventures await!

Making a home base of the Lyme Inn gives you the benefit of a small-town starting point. Elegant rooms, each with a coffee maker (and coffee), mini-fridge, microwave, air conditioning, and marble bath—all comfortable and beautifully decorated—allow for easy relaxation and great sleep. A light breakfast is included and for dinner, the popular Ariana’s Restaurant at the Inn offers dining options using fresh, local, and sustainable ingredients. Reservations are recommended! The Lyme Inn is a great location from which to branch out to the many activities our part of New England offers.

There are great driving trips in New Hampshire and Vermont, including a much-loved trip on New Hampshire’s Kancamagus Highway. This 34.5-mile drive, recognized as a National Scenic Byway, winds across beautiful parts of the state, including the White Mountain National Forest. And if you want to venture off the road a bit, there are many stops with lookouts or hikes of various lengths and difficulties to add to your driving adventure.

Interested in more physical activity? The roads through Lyme and in neighboring communities are bicycle-friendly. Green Woodlands offers great mountain biking trails. For more guided adventures, Vermont Bike and Brew offers e-bike rentals and pre-planned routes of varying difficulties, each with unique stops for refreshment.

Want entertainment? Our area offers theatre, musical theatre, and many music options at venues ranging from the Lebanon Opera House to taverns and restaurants. Dartmouth College offers art at the Hood Museum, and just off campus are a variety of dining and shopping options.
