It’s summer in the Upper Valley, and the weather is warm and beautiful. The bright sunny days call us outside and we have so many ways to enjoy them.
New Hampshire has no shortage of water to enjoy. Here in Lyme we have Post Pond—with a lovely sandy beach—for swimming, boating, and fishing. Lyme borders the Connecticut River, which offers more water sports options, as well as beautiful views of the rural Vermont and New Hampshire shorelines. Kayaking or canoeing on the river is a great way to spend a day. Area outfitters offer boat rentals.
Hiking options abound. Smarts Mountain Trail is nearby, offers beautiful views, and a taste of boreal forest. Dartmouth maintains an informative list of the many hiking options in the area, and you can find kid-friendly hikes as well! Mountain biking is another great way to enjoy the area’s trails and scenery.
Looking for an airborne adventure? Start your day with a spectacular view of the Upper Valley from a beautiful hot air balloon.
And, at the end of the day? There are many dining options offering a great variety of cuisines, including—of course—Ariana’s Restaurant right here at the Inn. And there are many evening entertainment options—music, theatre, and more.
Come enjoy historic elegance and contemporary luxury in a casual country setting at the Lyme Inn.
